This week we celebrated a special day for Lancashire, as it was Lancashire Day! But that’s not all; it’s also the day when an agreement was signed for Lancashire to work closely with Westminster on some exciting developments.
Now, you might have heard about Beaumont College, which is a part of the Salutem Family. But did you know that Beaumont College is unique in its own right? It’s our one and only further education specialist post-16 setting, and it’s also the only college of its kind in the northern part of North West England.
Angela, our College Principal, plays a crucial role in ensuring that Beaumont College thrives. She’s been hard at work forming relationships with key people to make sure that the services for our students, who are some of the most vulnerable special school leavers, and their parents and carers, receive the attention they deserve. Unlike schools for compulsory age education, local authorities don’t often refer students to our college. Instead, our parents and carers actively seek our support as part of the College Admissions Process.
In recent months, Angela has had the pleasure of meeting with several elected city councillors from our local area. These discussions have highlighted the need to raise awareness about the incredible opportunities Beaumont College offers to help school leavers “prepare for adulthood.” Unfortunately, not many people are aware of this gem of an institution.
What an honour!
So, it’s with great excitement that we share this news – Beaumont College had the honour of being invited to celebrate Lancashire Day! It’s a significant event as our county works towards securing devolved powers from the central government. We’re thrilled to be a part of this historic moment and to continue advocating for the fantastic opportunities Beaumont College provides.
