Enhancing Skills for Work Via Internship

January 19, 2024

Introduction

At Beaumont College, we believe in breaking down barriers in learning and paving the way for our students because we are keen on unlocking their full potential. In fact, one shining example of this commitment is Kian, a student who is enhancing his skills for future employment through an internship.

Kian at CandoFM

Firstly, the internship experience is a crucial step towards breaking the career and education barriers for Kian and for others with disabilities. Without reservation, the internship showcases that with the right support and environment, every student can aspire to meaningful employment.

Kian’s internship at CandoFM allowed him to step into the world of broadcasting. Together with his co-hosts, Emily, Cee Jay, and Naomi, he recorded his first radio broadcast. The show aired on Sunday, November 5th, at 3 pm on CandoFM and the show is available on DAB Radio and the CandoFM website at www.candofm.co.uk.

Kian’s story, serving as inspiration, demonstrates that internships offer practical experiences. Moreover, they can lead to future employment opportunities, extending beyond academic achievements. Internships provide a glimpse into the world of work, emphasizing the importance of skills and determination.

In conclusion, Kian’s journey at Beaumont College South Lakes exemplifies our commitment to providing our students with disabilities the tools and experiences they need to overcome barriers and achieve their career aspirations. Without a doubt, his internship at CandoFM is a reminder that with the right support and opportunities, we can empower our students to reach new heights and pave the way for a brighter future.
