    Some of our students have excellent language skills, while others may communicate in different ways. All have learning difficulties. For individuals in this group of students, they may have developed strategies for communication over their lives that aren’t as helpful or easy to understand as they reach adulthood. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, our ethos and culture is to support our young people to develop strategies focusing on positive behaviours, reducing and ideally removing the need for our young people to deploy unhelpful strategies to communicate their needs, be heard, listened to and understood. 
     
    You will work with identified students as part of a small team around the student, enabling and empowering them to prepare for fulfilling busy lives as young adults. Along the way, there will be fun, memories to make and a significant journey of ups and downs. As they graduate our young people demonstrate the progress they have made through their actions.     Our main college is located on a 7 acre site with a wide range of accommodation for students to live and learn. As part of therapy team you will be working with a wide interdisciplinary team to support students to reach their full potential with their health and wellbeing and prepare for adulthood.

    The Beaumont College family work closely together to provide opportunities for special school leavers to prepare for full and busy lives as adults. Empathy, patience and understanding of special educational needs or a willingness and aptitude to learn are key to the postholders appointment.

    Our learning support roles are term time only, and you will be supported to access training as a teacher but also in multidisciplinary team working.

  • About The Company:
    Beaumont College in Blackpool is located over two sites. One at the Highfield Centre, Highfield Road, Blackpool and the second at Breck Road in Skippool. This post holder will be required to work across both sites so it preferable the post holder is a driver to best accommodate this cross site location working. This provision is a specialist post 19 College setting that supports SEND young adults but whom are also some of the most vulnerable special school leavers working towards
    their journey towards busy and fulfilling lives as adults. 
     
    Beaumont College is part of Salutem Care and Education. Most of our students rely on the specialist health, allied health and some access positive behavior supports. As a College Administrator you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team who support students who have long term health conditions, which are commonly complex. Most students are supported around mobility and may well be wheelchair users. Some learners have diagnosis of autism and ADHD and some may be assistive technology users. Although the administrator role completes this function for Beaumont College Blackpool. It is important this post holder has empathy for and understanding of the young people they will be working alongside.
