Yesterday we had a visit from Postman Andy who came along as a Royal Mail representative to meet the students who helped to create our giant stamp.
The artwork was made to celebrate the platinum jubilee, it is a collage of Queen Elizabeth’s profile and was created by James, Ellie, Jack and Katie.
The profile was drawn using an artistic method using a digital projector, enlarged and traced. The collage was formed by carefully cutting out individual illustrations linked to the royal celebration and sealed using pva glue.
After Andy’s visit James went along to the Royal Mail delivery office where he was given a private tour of the office, dressing as a postman and practicing delivering some mail!
James officially delivered the art work to staff who proudly hung the piece on the office wall.
