Last year the Student Union decided they would like to do something different for Remembrance. The idea they came up with was to have a bench situated in college where people could go and have a quiet space.
When former student Mateo was enrolled he always organized a remembrance service here at college, and he has continued to be our alumni student. With this in mind Student Union asked if he would be happy to help finance towards the cost of buying a bench. So together this is what they have done.
The bench is located in the college grounds close to the garden entrance.
On unveiling the bench Mateo said:
“Morning everybody. I would like to declare this remembrance bench officially open. On behalf of everybody and myself at the student union. This bench has been put into place for anyone who wants to grab a cup of tea and remember people from past and present and have some time out to think.”
