Duke of Edinburgh volunteering and community impact

July 12, 2024

Whilst celebrating Volunteers’ Week the Duke of Edinburgh team  we’re delighted to share with us a certificate celebrating the impact of our DofE group’s volunteering and community impact.

Students across Beaumont College contributed an amazing 442 hours of volunteering between 1st April 2023 and 31st March 2024. The social value of this contribution is calculated at £2331.

The volunteering ranged from litter picking through to charity shop work and supporting the local hospice.

From the team at Duke of Edinburgh:

“You might remember from the release of our recent annual statistics, this year DofE participants gave a huge 4,725,825 hours of volunteering in communities all over the UK as part of their programmes – a huge leap of 33% on 2022/23!

We know volunteering changes lives for the better – that’s why it’s an integral part of the DofE programme. It’s more than just giving your time; we hear thousands of stories from young people about how their DofE volunteering helped them develop a passion for a cause or learn new skills that set them up for their future. We’re so proud of all the young people dedicating their time and energy to volunteering and we’re so grateful for the time you dedicate to supporting young people through the DofE programme.

Thank you so much for everything you do to support young people in achieving their DofE”.

Congratulations to all the students who participated. Here you can see Tabby and Harry presented with the certificate!
